Good morning and welcome to the #trending in video blog brought to you by Best Made Videos®. We are a Seattle based live event videography company and wedding videography company and this is our weekly video marketing blog where we like to scour the internet to find all of the latest tips and trends in the world of videography and video production to bring them to you in the hopes that you will be able to use them for your own video marketing.

Today we are looking at an article from BuiltIn and the title of this article is “If you’re not using video, what are you waiting for?” This is a very blunt and honest title and is certainly something that we as a Seattle corporate videography company likes to see in a video marketing blog! The article begins with the subtitle, that marking through the use of video can help make big engagements and garner support form your audience and you don’t necessarily need to spend a huge budget on your video production to see tangible results.

The author notes that video is one of, if not THE most powerful medium to use right now in marketing. Each and every social media platform that exists has their own algorithm which helps decide which videos to show on a countless loop to the users that inhabit their social media network. On YouTube along, over 70 percent of their videos are set to autoplay through recommendations from their proprietary algorithm. Each and every single day, over 4 billion videos are watched on Facebook by their users. If you want to get engagement from your content on LinkedIn, try posting videos as the videos that are shared on that social media platform get 5x more engagement than text based posts. If you are posting your videos on Instagram, you’re likely to get 38% more engagement than by simply posting a still image.

United States residents spend over 5 and a half hours each week on their mobile devices and therefore the consumption of video watching by users has skyrocketed dramatically. Even though it is clear to see the benefits of using video in your marketing content, many brand marketers still don’t utilize the power of video to its full extent. The most common reasons for people not harnessing the power of video seems to relate back to lack of time, not understanding the ROI of video use, and simply not knowing where to start.

The author of this video marketing article is a chief marketing officer at a cybersecurity startup, and he has used video to increase engagement from their user base and is also how they attempt to “humanize”the idea of cybersecurity. In a business as tech rich and unapproachable as cybersecurity, have a strong brand message conveyed through video to their audience base is a great way to increase band loyalty and commitment from their users.

They note that you don’t necessarily need a huge budget or tons of time to make your first piece of video content. You can focus on filling small bite-size videos featuring some of your employees talking about the benefits of using your product or service. You can start out with these being informal and then begin to incorporate more production values into your video content as you continue to improve.

You can have conversations on-camera, if you want to make things less awkward. Start by identifying a series of relevant topics to cover in your video and then find hashtags or relevant text to incorporate as well. This company merely used an iPhone and some basic video editing software and they were off to the races! They note that the videos they began to post in LinkedIn got at least 3x more engagement than previous text based informational posts, and this all came about by leveraging some free video tools and a few hours of video production time. Besides posting the videos on LinkedIn, this company also posts the videos on the various social media platforms that allow video sharing, such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. By doing this they were able to see far more engagement on their video content than they ever had before sharing traditional blog posts.

Over time this company (and you will too) became more tech savvy and comfortable in front of the video camera. Even when the company had to shift to working from home, they continued the momentum they had built in their video content creation by continuing to film selfie videos at home and posting the videos on the social media sites.

Once you become comfortable with filming and editing your own video content, it is absolutely encourage and appropriate to bring in a professional corporate video production company to handle some of the heavier lifting of the more advanced video productions. This company even hired a marketing coordinator with video content to continue to build their brand.

By hiring someone with more video experience or by bringing in a third-party video vendor as your budget allows, you can improve the videos you are creating by editing sizzle reels, video ads and other video projects that require just a little more finesse. Your goal should be to regularly produce high quality, and engaging video content that you can share frequently to keep your brand top of mind with your consumer.

Organic video is essential to many brands as a way to share their story with the audience. You can use organic video to get your message across to your audience in a way that feels less scripted and more authentic, although there are many different types of videos that you have at your disposal as you continue to evolve your video content creation strategy.

Once you have your video content, focus on getting the most eyeballs that you can. Use video ads and run video marketing campaigns to continue to drive your message home and to keep the momentum that you have begun to build. It might take time to develop your video skills to the level that you want them to be at, but there is no time like the present to start utilizing and harnessing the power of video marketing to take your brand to the next level.

This was a very interesting video marketing article that we got a chance to look at today on the #trending in video blog. I think it’s incredibly useful to go trough the experiences of a brand first-hand to see the struggles and also successes that the found incorporating video marketing into their overall brand strategy. Thanks again for checking out our video marketing blog, hopefully whether you are in the Seattle area, the Pacific Northwest or beyond you can utilize some of these video productions strategies at your own place of business.
