This is our weekly blog series, where we keep you up to date on all of the trending topics in the world of videography and video production. We have three interesting articles today we are looking at the first is from Marketing Tech Outlook, the second is from Social Media Today, and the third is from SmartBrief. All of these articles are talking about the world of videography and video production. And I think they're going to have some really valuable tips for all of us in the Seattle market. A little context before we get started Best Made Videos® is a Seattle based wedding and live event videography company. And we take a lot of the same videography tips that we read about in these articles and bring to you and apply them to our own videography production, so I hope that you guys find some useful tips from this and let's get started.
The first is just a brief full article from MarTech Outlook. And it's talking about three must know SEO trends for marketers and that search engine optimization. And that certainly something that we focus on in our own videography company is focusing on keywords as it relates to video marketing and video content creation, and trying to get that out there in the ether. They talk about how SEO or search engine optimization is not just about keywords hyperlinks and following algorithm changes. It's about communicating relevant information in the right way to increase digital presence. They note that for many SEO could be seen as easy as it sounds, search engine optimization, as long as the right keywords are in place with some hyperlinks, the website is expected to do well. We certainly focus on that as well with Best Made Videos® and the content that we create, including keywords on this blog, as it relates to videography and video marketing. They note there is so much more the SEO than meets the eye and SEO analytics can tell a lot about a targeted consumer behavior. It takes a ton of practice and lots of creativity to get the desired results, and with new business coming up every day, SEO is an integral part of a company's digital video marketing strategy. Here are a list of some SEO trends that you can use to help improve your own digital presence.
The first one, when they talk about is voice, and we've talked a lot about this before on the #trending in video blog about how lots of searches are done nowadays through voice. If you're going to be creating videos and posting videos online it is a good idea to transcribe those videos or have captions for those videos, so that as people are watching along to the videos online, they can easily follow along, also those video transcriptions do well and ranking in SEO. The article notes that today 40% of adults are relying on voice search, but only 4% of companies in the United States of America have enabled voice search. There are a couple SEO voice search approaches that brands can use to help boost their readiness for voice search. The improvements to the current digital video marketing plan will deliver the desired results by adding keyword phrases that best fit voice search queries to nail down exactly how to handle local SEO.
The second key word they're talking about is BERT. And that stands for bi-directional encoder representations from the transformers, and that is a mouthful, but in short, it is an algorithm, a deep learning algorithm related to natural language processing. This is going to enable a device to understand what words in a sentence mean also with all the contextual nuances that go along with it. This technology is designed to analyze search inquiries and not web pages. They say because of this on page, SEO is going to become very important to appear with the help of the new update through Google for this technology. This is quite a mouthful, but I think it's short, it's talking about utilizing the proper keywords as it relates to your video marketing strategy. And also, like I said before, transcribing those videos as you publish and post them and taking your videos appropriately, when you can.
The third thing that they're talking about, and it shouldn't have come to no surprise to you on the #trending in video blog, but they are indeed talking about video and they note that video is a vital part of the digital marketing and search engine optimization strategy. Per a recent study by Forrester video is 50 times more likely to appear on the front page of search engines than plain text webpages and videos are used in over 62% of Google searches universally and embedding videos on the brand's webpage can help get more traffic. And that certainly goes along with what we've been talking about recently on the trending of the video blog and just the overall importance of developing your video content marketing strategy. It's certainly good for us to hear that they are talking about the importance of video as a Seattle based videography company.
The second article we're the second article worth looking at is talking about the state of video marketing in 2020. This is a lot of infographics, but I browse through it. And I think there's enough facts here related to videography and video production that I think it's worthwhile to go through. They talk about how video is the most engaging content type across any social media platform and even more so now with everything that's going on with lockdowns. Facebook recently reported that the number of people watching Facebook live content has risen by over 50% by since January and that should come as no surprise with everyone being at home. The overall increase in digital video consumption how forced even the major providers to reduce the quality of the videos that is the streaming quality in the videos in some regions to avoid over straining the network.
If you're looking to engage your audience video is now the key and for businesses in particular, having good quality videos can be a powerful medium for your brand messaging. The team from elite content marketing have put together a bunch of interesting infographics here, and we're going to browse through them and see what we can gain from them and relate to our own video production strategy.
They note that 85% of businesses use video for marketing with recent marketers reported that 92% say video is important for their strategy. And I think we've actually talked about some of those numbers before on the #trending the video blog, but it's certainly good to see them pop up here in these video infographics as well. 92% of the video marketers feel level of noise and competition increased in the last year. That's obviously, you know, the increased competition from other businesses and forcing them to create higher quality video content themselves.
59% of non video marketers are expecting to start using video to market in 2020 and 66% of the people prefer short videos of products or services compare the longer ones. And that goes back to the topic we talked about on our last blog post on #trending and video about the capturing people's short attention spans and using the first eight seconds of your video to really capture the audience. As they're scrolling through Instagram.
They list some commonly created video types here. 72% are explainer videos, 49% presentation videos for the 8% testimonial videos, 42% sales videos and 42% add videos. That just shows that the wide range of video content you can create as a brand and working with a video production company is a great way to get you in the door with that.
Video ads, according to these numbers is the number one way that customers are moving from discovering their brand to purchasing its products, and that goes along with some of the recent numbers we've seen on the video blog as well, 95% of video marketers plan to increase or maintain their spending on video. That is certainly good to hear as well as the Seattle based videography company, 87% of business videos are watched on a desktop and that is surprising since we've been talking so much recently on the #trending in video blog about the increase use of mobile devices. Some popular videos for B2B video types, our webinars demos and social videos, the highest revenue for them from a single webinar was $20,930. Te average 53 minutes was consumed by attendees last year of webinar videos.
When talking about business video length, they know that four minutes and seven seconds is an average length. Looking at online video consumption video is going to account for 82% of all internet traffic by 2022. We've also quoted similar numbers before on the trending and video blog. 2 billion users log onto YouTube per month and over a billion hours of video is watched every day.
When interviewing shoppers, they note that 50% of shoppers admit they took help from online videos to decide which brands or products to buy and 51% felt the need to connect with others through video content. In terms of learning new skills through video four out of five use the videos to teach themselves new skills. 87% of video marketers say that video has increased their website traffic with 81% saying that having video on their web page increases the average time of users user spends on the page.
People on average are watching 16 hours of online videos per week for social media videos to tell statistics, 91% of marketers are satisfied with the return of investment of their video marketing efforts on social media. They note that 93% of businesses have landed a customer because of the videos they have on their social media. 88% of the video marketers are going to include YouTube videos in their strategy this year and only 14.5% of marketers don't publish video content at all.
The third most popular video type on social media is live video and that goes along with numbers we've quoted recently on the #trending in video blog video views have grown on Twitter 220 times in the last 12 months with 93% of the video views happening on mobile through Twitter. Tweets with videos are six times more likely to be retweeted than tweets with images and they are three times more likely to be retweeted than tweets with a GIF. One in five video marketers are trying TikTok and 66% of those that have tried have seen success with that video sharing social media site. Native LinkedIn videos are getting shared 20 times more than any other content and they note that YouTube, Facebook and Instagram are still the top three driving platforms in the video space.
Those are some interesting statistics, a lot of those echo, what we've talked about recently on here, but it's still, as I've always said is cool to see some of those numbers in the video usage and video watch numbers be echoed across other articles as well.
The third and final video article we're looking at today is from SmartBrief and they're talking about video marketing as the future of content marketing. How many times have we seen that article headline before? In 2018, 85% of all users in the United States watch the videos online. 95% of marketers surveyed in 2019, we're planning to increase their video marketing budgets for 2020. Those statistics are clearly pointing towards an increase in the interest in videos, but why are marketers inclined to create more video content and use it for their content marketing efforts? Well, we're going to find out why videos are the future of content marketing.
This article lists six key takeaways. Number one, people love watching videos. According to the previously cited study, 96% of the people have watched explainer videos of services or products online. Additionally, people spend about 16 hours watching online videos each and every week and that's 53% increase in the last two years. This clearly shows that people love watching videos online. People also want to see branded video content, some 86% of the people said they liked to see more videos from brands they follow in 2020 and this is a reason why so many brands are adding video to their content strategies. People do prefer videos over other content because they are engaging and entertaining all at the same time. If you ask people how they would prefer to learn about a product or service over 66% said they would prefer to watch videos and that was indirect contrast with the 18% of people who prefer a text content.
One of the major reasons for this is the time constraints we're all under today. People are often pressed for time and 73% of people surveyed have less time to devote to research and reading online. 51% of them however, were happy to watch a five to 20 minute video for the same time and that's really interesting, cause obviously we're using the same amount of time, people would just prefer to watch the video instead of reading the text.
Number three people purchase on seeing videos. You can use videos on your website and all sorts of different social media platforms and when people see them, it's not only going to improve your brand awareness, but watching the videos is also going to drive those consumers to purchase from you. In fact, according to the recent survey that we've already quoted, 84% of the people said they were convinced to purchase a product or service after watching the brand video. Almost 75% of the people even said they had been convinced to download software or an app by watching the video and this clearly indicates that video can help drive online conversions. Videos can also attract people. And whether you're using your videos on social media or your website, having those videos has tremendous potential to drive people to your brand. 87% of marketers said that video has increased traffic to their website and that goes back directly to the previous article we just quoted. People are twice as likely to share video content with their family and friends and other forms of content, so having engaging videos can help grow your reach and engagement with your target audience. Videos can also help you generate leads and increase your sales. 83% of the video marketers said that having video help them generate leads while 80% said that videos have helped them grow their sales.
Number five video can help with customer support. You can convey lots of information in a short and engaging manner through video. It can help you reduce the burden on your customer service team by having to explainer videos. You can also find out common issues that your customers face and create your own video content o answer those questions. Having quality explainer videos is better than texts because customers will be able to see the visuals along with the commentary and therefore they will be more likely to understand how to solve the issue they are grappling with. 43% of video. Marketers said that having video has led to a reduction in the number of support calls that they used to receive. Even creating simple how to videos can help you achieve this and it can also improve the customer experience as well because issues will be resolved quickly.
Number six, video is useful in email marketing for each and every dollar spent on email marketing brands get a return of about $40 while this is somewhat high, you can also continue to improve that number using video in your email marketing. Adding video to your emails makes them more engaging, it also saves the email receivers time. You'll be able to convey the same information you want to convey faster using video content and due to the engaging nature of video people may also view your email for longer and might click on the links that you sent.
Some final thoughts the article brings up are that video videos are a crucial part of the content digital video marketing strategy moving forward and they can help you promote your brand effectively. People love watching videos and consuming them more than other forms of content and they also tend to purchase these services or products that you have more after watching videos. They can be instrumental in boosting your email marketing return on investment, and they are a safe and easy way to help reduce the burden from your customer support team. The article concludes it is safe to say that video is here to stay and that video is the future of content marketing.
