Hey everybody and welcome to a new issue of #trending in video blog brought to you by Best Made Videos®. This is where we scour the internet for all sorts of interesting tips and tidbits in the world of videography and video production. Today we are looking at a couple interesting articles, one from Yahoo finance and another from promotionworld.com.
The first article we're looking at from Yahoo finance talks about the top five content marketing strategies, trends and challenges for 2020 and beyond, and this is brought to you by Digital Silk. They note that 86% of business to consumer marketers believe that content marketing is their key business strategy and 91% of business to business marketers are using content marketing to reach their customers. So that's an overwhelming amount of marketers that believe that video content and other online forms of content are going to be key in reaching customers moving forward. Digital Silk compiled the leading content marketing strategies, trends and challenges for 2020 and they are presenting them in this article.
They note that the top five content marketing strategies to them are quality web content, blogging, email marketing, and that includes both text and video, digital PR and then specifically video marketing and this really goes along with what we've been looking at recently on the #trending in video blog, talking about using video and other forms of personalized focused content to reach the consumers you're trying to reach. The key trend for content marketing in 2020 are voice search. They've note that that is going to be on the rise. We've also been talking about that recently on the trending and video blog about how you should be transcribing your videos and giving your videos, captions or text to read along with it to help aid your consumers in using voice search to find your content.
They note that brands should optimize their video and other content for Google's featured snippets. That's kind of an aggregation that Google uses to highlight certain videos and other content on their search engines. They note that there is an increased interest in video content, which is great for us video creators like Best Made Videos®. The article notes that mobile is also going to continue to rise and that's important because you need to make sure that content you're creating, whether it's video content or otherwise, you need to make sure that it is going to be optimized correctly for mobile users as well as desktop users. They note that audiences are also going to be expecting higher levels of personalization both in the video content you are creating but also in the text that goes along with that and that audiences are growing smarter to the content that they are looking at and so whether it's videography that you are producing or any other branded content, you need to make sure that it is personalized to the audience you are trying to reach.
The main challenges this article talks about for content marketers in 2020 is zero click searches. They know zero clicks. Searches are becoming more frequent and that involves search engines like Google and others displaying search results on their homepage as opposed to driving the traffic directly to specific brand websites. They note that user intent is reshaping the marketing funnel and that intent is key both in terms of what video content you are producing, but what you are hoping to get from that. Content. Users are very intentful with the time that they spend, whether it's watching your videos or reading your content and so you need to make sure that you are thinking about the user that you are trying to reach when you're making that video content. They note a customer centric mindset is essential and companies need to put the customer first even before their own company.
Marketing professionals, according to this article, should be prepared for challenges and trends in video content marketing. They need to keep the user journey front of mind and creating and adapting their strategies. And just a little bit of background about Digital Silk. They are a creative digital agency focused on growing brands online and that goes from custom websites to digital marketing. They create according to them a superior digital experience that drives higher conversions, greater brand engagement and measurable results.
This article really goes along with what we've been talking about lately on the #trending in video blog about really making sure that you're being conscious about the content you're creating, not creating videos just for the sake of having videos, but making sure they are targeted at who you are trying to reach and making sure that your message is clear and concise.
The other article we're looking today is from promotionworld.com. It is essential digital marketing tips for the automotive industry. And I've noted before on the #trending in video blog that just because we're talking about something that's specifically related to the automotive industry doesn't necessarily mean that you can't take the same video strategies and relate them to your own industry no matter what that is.
This article begins. A solid digital marketing strategy is essential for automotive marketers everywhere. They note that 75% of car buyers regard internet research as the most helpful tool for choosing dealers and cars to purchase. They rank social media as more important than the dealers own the website. So it's important for automotive marketers to stay up to date with the latest digital video marketing trends to attract customers and boost sales, and that means creating new content regularly. New video content, new photo content for your websites and social media, and making sure that that video content gets published across the web.
We're going to look at a couple of different bullet points through this article. The first one relates to video marketing, which says that three out of four car shoppers base or shopping habits or purchases on online video. Let's read that again. Three of four car shoppers based their shopping habits or purchases on online video that 75% according to Google. They know that 40% of car buyer shoppers look at online marketing videos and say that they're helpful for discovering cars that they didn't know about. That means 40% of people out there shopping for cars are using videos to discover new things that they didn't even know existed before. They note that video marketing motivates shoppers to act that 60% of car shoppers mad a purchase after watching marketing videos. And that's either by visiting the dealer's website or by going into their brick and mortar store.
You need to make sure your videos attract customers by making them interesting, factual and actionable. For example, you need to make sure that your videos offer information on the latest vehicles or even that your videos can offer advice on maintenance and repair for the vehicles that the customers buy.
The other key interesting point that this article talks about is mobile marketing and how car dealers and marketers need to tailor their marketing campaigns to the mobile user. This goes directly in line with the article we were just looking at before. They say that if you don't focus on mobile marketing, you're going to miss out on 18% of consumers who only use mobile devices in shopping for cars. This also notes that 53% of the people who own cars use multiple devices in terms of searching for cars and that could be online and iPads and other things to view videos and photos related to car shopping.
According to this article, 50% of all vehicle shoppers with mobile devices use their phones while visiting the dealership and that's to make sure that they are up to date on the best deals, no matter if it's related to a car or anything else that they're searching for. They frequently look online for popular reviews and they want to hear from verified owners and other consumers to make sure that they're getting the best car for the price. This makes effective marketing all the more important because you want to make sure that your consumers are not leaving your store or lot and looking elsewhere for a better deal.
